Paper is not the mistake — relying on it after 10am is
There is a good reason to want a printed bracket, and it has nothing to do with technology. A sheet on the wall is readable by everyone walking past without anyone taking out a phone. A referee needs something on a clipboard. The registration desk needs a list it can write on. None of that is nostalgia.
The limit is specific and it arrives early: a printed bracket stops being true at the first result. From that moment the copy on the wall, the copy in your bag and the photograph of it in the group chat are three different documents, and the one people believe is whichever they saw most recently.
