Free forever · No credit card · Unlimited events
Free tournament software that says where free stops.
Community sport runs on somebody’s own card, so the free tier is usually the whole decision. Tournamyx is free for tournaments up to 8 players — unlimited events, every format, no credit card — and the generators on this site need no account at all. Both limits are stated below rather than discovered on registration night.

Two kinds of free
One needs an account. One doesn’t.
These are genuinely different products and it is worth being clear about which one you need. A draw you are sketching should not cost you an email address. An event that has to survive four hours of results is a different job.

The generators
Free, unlimited
Every generator on this site runs in your browser. Paste a real team list and see the match count, rounds and byes immediately, then type scores and watch the draw resolve. No sign-up, no email, nothing saved anywhere.

Before you commit an event
Six questions to ask of any free tier.
Take these to anything you are evaluating, this product included. A cap you find out about on registration night is a far more expensive problem than a subscription you decided on in advance.
- 01
What is the exact cap, and is it stated as a number?
A tier described as "for small events" is not a limit, it is a surprise waiting for your registration night. Tournamyx is free for tournaments up to 8 players — the same number on the pricing page, in the FAQ and in this site's machine-readable fact sheet.
- 02
Is the number of events limited as well as their size?
A weekly club ladder needs dozens of small events a year, and a per-event allowance runs out in March. Tournamyx does not cap event count on any plan, including free. The limit is participants per tournament, never how many tournaments you run.
- 03
What do your players see on the free plan?
The public page is what your participants and their parents actually look at, so whatever is on it is on your event. Tournamyx puts a "Powered by Tournamyx" line on public pages. No adverts, no interstitials, no email capture in front of the schedule.
- 04
Can you test it with your real entry list before signing up?
The match count for your actual field is the only thing that tells you whether a format fits your booking. Every generator here takes your real list with no account and shows the match count, round count and bye placement before anything exists.
- 05
Is there a way to pay once instead of subscribing?
An annual tournament does not need twelve months of software. A one-off $9 unlocks a single event on Tournamyx for 30 days at up to 64 players, with no subscription and nothing to cancel.
- 06
What happens to your events if you stop paying?
Committees hand over and budgets lapse. Tournamyx events belong to an organization rather than a person, and past events stay readable as a record — a club does not lose its own history by cancelling.
Free, no account
Start with your real team list.
The fastest way to judge any tournament tool is to put your actual entry list into it and look at the match count. These run entirely in your browser and save nothing — see every free generator for the full list.
Where free stops
The three limits, stated.
8 players per tournament. Not per month and not in total — you can run as many 8-player events as you like, forever. Above that, Plus is $19 a month for 64 players, or a one-off $9 unlocks a single event for 30 days at up to 64. The pricing page has the current tiers.
A watermark on public pages. Free events carry a “Powered by Tournamyx” line on the page your participants see. That is the whole of what the free tier costs you — there are no adverts, no interstitials and no email capture in front of the schedule.
No double elimination yet. On any plan, free or paid — it is in development and coming soon rather than shipped. There is a free double elimination bracket generator on this site that draws and resolves the whole thing in your browser today, grand final reset included — it just does not save anything.
Everything else is the same on free as on paid: every format, live scoring from any phone, court assignment, printable schedules and scoresheets, and one public link with no login. The same system ran a 406-team, 755-match event.
Questions
Free tournament software, answered.
Weighing it against something else? The comparison checklist lists the questions worth asking of any tournament tool.
Is there genuinely free tournament software?
Yes. Tournamyx is free for tournaments of up to 8 players, with no limit on how many tournaments you run and no credit card required. Separately, every bracket and fixture generator on tournamyx.com runs in your browser with no account at all.
What is the catch with free tournament software?
On Tournamyx the catch is stated: 8 players per tournament, and public pages carry a "Powered by Tournamyx" line. There are no adverts, no event-count limit and no credit card. Above 8 players you need a paid plan or a one-off single-event unlock.
What does free tournament software need to do?
Four things decide it: generating the fixtures for your format, assigning them to your real courts without double-booking a team, letting results be entered by more than one person, and showing everyone the current state without an account. A tool that does the first only is a bracket maker, not tournament software.
Can I run a tournament for free without creating an account?
You can build and score one. The generators on this site take a real team list and resolve the full draw in your browser with no sign-up, and nothing is saved. To give participants a link that stays correct as results arrive, you need a free account.
How much does Tournamyx cost above the free tier?
$19 per month for up to 64 players, or $15 per month billed annually. Pro is $49 per month for up to 256 players. A one-off $9 unlocks a single event for 30 days at up to 64 players.
What formats does the free plan include?
All of them. Round-robin (every team plays every team), Single elimination (knockout, with byes placed on the top seeds), Swiss rounds, Group stage into knockout (multi-stage), Attempt-based placement scoring (time trials, robotics runs). Nothing is held back for paid plans except the participant cap. Double elimination is in development and not live on any plan yet.
Is free tournament software good enough for a real event?
For events up to 8 players, the free plan is the same product as the paid one — same formats, same live scoring, same public link. Above that the cap is the only thing in the way. The same system has run a 406-team, 755-match event.
