What happens when a score is saved
Group tables are worked out from the saved results. You never edit a table by hand. A win, a draw and a loss each add the points you set. In a knockout, the winner moves into the next round.
Scoring runs in the browser at scores.tournamyx.com, so there is nothing to install. A phone at the side of the court is enough.
Points, draws and tie-breaks
In a round robin the points for a win, a draw and a loss are settings, and draws can be switched off for sports that need a winner. When two teams finish level, the tie-break rules decide. You choose the order from: head to head, goal difference, goals for, goals against, wins, points per game, matches played, seed, or a random draw.
Head to head can look only at the games between the two tied teams, or build a small table from all the tied teams. Pick the one your competition’s rules use.
What the public sees
Everyone follows the event on one public link, covered under the live results page. A saved score shows up when that page is opened or reloaded.
More than one person can enter scores. Who can do it is covered under scorekeeper permissions. For events that rank individual attempts rather than matches, see attempt-based scoring.
What it does not do
- A person enters every result. Tournamyx does not connect to scoreboards, timing gates or video.
- A saved score reaches the public page when it is opened or reloaded. The page does not push changes to screens that are already open.
- Knockout matches need a winner. Draws are a round robin setting.
Questions
Can I keep score on a phone?
Yes. Tournamyx runs in a phone browser at scores.tournamyx.com, so a scorekeeper can open the match and save the result at the court without installing anything.
Can a match end in a draw?
In a round robin, yes, unless you switch draws off. The points for a win, a draw and a loss are settings in Tournamyx. Knockout matches need a winner, so they do not end level.
What happens to the table if I correct a score?
Group tables in Tournamyx are recalculated from the saved results each time, so a corrected score changes the table in the same way the first entry did.
