In brief
What does the 11 team round robin generator do?
The Tournamyx 11 team round robin generator produces the complete fixture list for eleven teams, all 55 matches in which every team plays every other team once, together with the standings table that ranks them. Both are built in the browser and the table recalculates as each score is entered.
An 11-team round robin runs 55 matches across 11 rounds, with 5 matches each round and one team sitting out, which is why an odd field needs 11 rounds rather than 10. Every team plays 10 games.
Every generator on Tournamyx is free and needs no account. Running the same event live, with scores, standings and a public link, happens at scores.tournamyx.com, free for up to 8 players.

How it works
Build an 11 team round robin in three steps.
- 1~1 min
Enter your eleven teams
Paste the list or use the auto-fill. Order does not matter in a round robin, because everyone meets everyone regardless. There is no seeding decision to get wrong here.
- 2~5 sec
All 55 fixtures appear
The circle method pairs the field and rotates the bye, so the 11 rounds come out balanced and no team sits out twice before the others have sat out once.
- 3done
Score it and the table sorts itself
Type any result and the standings recalculate on 3-1-0 points, sorted by points then score difference. Run it on Tournamyx Scores to keep the table live on a link everyone can open.
Field guide
How many matches is an 11 team round robin?
Eleven teams play 55 matches. The formula is n × (n − 1) ÷ 2: each of the 11 teams meets the other 10, and dividing by two removes the double-count, because A versus B and B versus A are the same fixture. Every team plays 10 games, which is the guarantee that makes the format worth its length.
Because 11 is odd, the 11-team round robin cannot pair everyone off: exactly one team sits out each round, and the bye rotates so nobody sits out twice before everyone has sat out once. That is why an odd field needs 11 rounds rather than 10.
On 2 courts at 30 minutes a slot, that is 33 slots, about 16.5 hours, or more than one day. Rounds run sequentially and a round cannot overlap itself, because a team would be on two courts at once, so the honest figure is the sum of the per-round slot counts and not 55 ÷ 2. Adding courts past 5 saves nothing at all: a round is only 5 matches wide.
11 teams, four formats compared on 2 courts at 30-minute slots
| Format | Matches | Rounds | Guaranteed games | Run time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round robin | 55 | 11 | 10 | 16.5 h |
| Swiss | 20 | 4 | 3 | 6 h |
| Groups + knockout | 20 | 6 | 2 | 6 h |
| Single elimination | 10 | 4 | 1 | 3 h |
55 matches is a season, not a Sunday
At eleven teams a full round robin is 55 matches over 11 rounds, or about 16.5 hours on 2 courts. That is a league played over weeks, not an event that finishes on one afternoon, and treating it as a one-day format is the most common way an 11-team draw goes wrong.
If you have weeks, run it as a league and let the table build. If you have a day, the realistic alternatives are a group stage feeding a knockout, at 20 matches and 6 h with still 2 guaranteed games each, or Swiss, which ranks the same eleven teams in 4 rounds and 6 h without anyone being eliminated.
Swiss is the underrated answer at this field size. It gives everyone 3 games, produces a genuine ranking, and costs 35 fewer matches than the full round robin.
Ties, points and who finishes top
The generator ranks on 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a defeat, then splits level teams on score difference. That is the convention most one-day events use, and it is worth writing on the entry form before anyone plays, because a tie-break invented after the fact is the argument nobody wins.
Head-to-head is the other common first tie-break, and it behaves differently: it rewards the team that beat the other, which feels fairer in a small field and breaks down in a three-way tie. With an odd field there is a second wrinkle. A rotating bye means teams reach the final round having played the same number of games, but not necessarily against the same opposition strength.
Round robin tournaments explained covers the tie-break options in full, and how to run a round robin has the circle method written out if you want to check the draw by hand.

How many games in an 11 team round robin?
55. Every one of the 11 teams plays the other 10, and n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 removes the double-count, so 11 × 10 ÷ 2 = 55 matches. Each team plays 10 games.
How many rounds does an 11 team round robin take?
11. An odd field cannot pair off completely, so one team sits out each round and the bye rotates through all 11 teams, which takes 11 rounds rather than 10.
How long does an 11 team round robin take?
About 16.5 hours on 2 courts with 30-minute slots, which is 33 slots in total. Rounds are sequential, so the figure is the sum of the per-round slot counts, not the 55 matches divided by the courts.
Who sits out in an 11 team round robin?
One team each round, rotating. With 11 teams the circle method holds one position fixed and rotates the rest, so the bye passes through every team exactly once across the 11 rounds. No team sits out twice before all the others have sat out once.
Is a round robin the right format for 11 teams?
Only if you have weeks. At 55 matches and roughly 16.5 hours it is a league season. For a single day with eleven teams, a group stage into a knockout costs 20 matches and still guarantees 2 games each.
Can I run this on Tournamyx for free?
The generator on this page is free and unlimited. It just does not save anything. The free tier of Tournamyx Scores covers events up to 8 players, so an 11-team event needs a paid plan or a one-off single-event unlock to run live.
