The organizer view is not the one that gets used most

Every tournament tool is evaluated by the person setting it up, which is the wrong audience for most of what it does. You will use the admin screen for an hour of setup and then a few minutes at a time. The public page will be opened by every player, every parent and every spectator, repeatedly, for the whole event.

That audience has constraints the organizer does not. They are on a phone, often inside a sports hall with poor reception. They will not install anything. They will not create an account to find out when their daughter plays. And they are looking for one specific thing — their own next match — not a general overview of the competition.

So it is worth doing the evaluation from that side: open the public view of whatever you are considering on a phone, and see how long it takes to answer “when and where am I on next”. The checklist below is written from that position, and applies to this product as much as any other.

What Tournamyx does

What one public link removes

Every Tournamyx event publishes a single URL that needs no login and no install. It carries the schedule, the live bracket or table, and every result as it lands. Captains check their next match and court on it. Spectators follow the bracket on it. Nobody messages you to ask.

The size of that saving only becomes obvious once you have run an event without it. At twenty-four teams, five rounds and a draw that changes on every result, the same question arrives from a different person every few minutes for the whole day — and answering it means re-reading a spreadsheet on your phone while holding a whistle.

It is also what makes the event survivable if you step away. A public page that is correct without your involvement means a co-organizer can cover an hour without a handover briefing.

Free brackets first, no account at all

Before any of that, the generators on this site run entirely in your browser with no sign-up: paste your real team list into the bracket generator and see the match count, round count and bye placement immediately. Type scores and winners advance, so you can rehearse the shape of the event before committing to anything.

If you already know your field size, the fixed-roster pages go straight to the numbers — 8 teams is seven matches with no byes, 16 teams is fifteen over four clean rounds, and 32 teams is thirty-one over five. Every generator is listed on the tools page.

Nothing there is saved. That is right for a draw you are sketching and wrong the moment results start arriving, which is the point at which the live product becomes worth an account.

Delegating scoring without handing over the event

The other thing the audience notices is how fast results appear, and that is a staffing question rather than a software one. If scoring requires your account, every result has to reach you before it reaches anyone else, and you spend the day walking between courts.

Roles on Tournamyx are assigned per tournament: a scorer can enter results from the court they are standing at without being able to edit the draw or see your other events. Four courts can have four people scoring simultaneously, and the public page updates from all of them at once.

Is there a free alternative to BracketHQ?

The bracket generators on this site are free and unlimited with no account and no email. Running the same bracket live with scores and a public link is free for events up to 8 participants.

What should I compare bracket tools on?

Open the public view on a phone and time how long it takes to answer “when and where am I on next”. Then check whether a saved result updates everyone’s screen or only yours, and whether anything has to be installed.

Do spectators need an account to see the bracket?

No. Every Tournamyx event has one public link that opens in any browser with no login and no install, showing the schedule, live bracket and results. Accounts are only needed by people entering scores or editing the event.

Is there an app to download?

No. Tournamyx is a web application at scores.tournamyx.com and runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet and phone. There is nothing to install for organizers, scorers or spectators.

Can more than one person enter scores?

Yes. Roles are assigned per tournament, so a scorer can enter results without being able to edit the draw or access your other events. Several courts can be scored at the same time by different people.

Can I share the event link before the tournament starts?
