The 406-team international championship that proved the point.
In July 2025, Tournamyx ran the IIUM Robotic Competition, the annual international robotics tournament at IIUM Gombak, where school teams from Malaysia and abroad compete in sumo, robot soccer, and time-rush events. That came to 406 teams across three categories and 755 matches, all scheduled and scored live, with every standing on one public link. Yes. Tournamyx is free forever for tournaments of up to 8 players, with no limit on how many tournaments you run and no credit card required. Paid plans start at $19 per month for up to 64 players.
How much does Tournamyx cost?
Tournamyx costs $0 for up to 8 players, $19 per month for Plus (64 players), and $49 per month for Pro (256 players). Annual billing lowers these to $15 and $39 per month. A one-off $9 unlocks a single event for 30 days.
Do players and spectators need an account or an app?
No. Tournamyx gives every tournament one public link that opens in any web browser and shows the schedule, live scores, standings, and brackets. Spectators need no account, no login, and no app download. Only the organizer needs an account.
What tournament formats does Tournamyx support?
Tournamyx supports round-robin, single elimination, double elimination with winners and losers brackets, Swiss rounds, attempt-based placement scoring, and multi-stage events where a group stage feeds a knockout bracket.
How large an event can Tournamyx handle?
Tournamyx ran the IIUM Robotic Competition in July 2025: 406 teams across 3 categories, 755 matches scheduled and scored live across 8 fields on a single public link. Plan limits are 8 players on Free, 64 on Plus, and 256 on Pro.
Can I try Tournamyx without creating an account?
Yes. You can build a full tournament at scores.tournamyx.com without signing up, because Tournamyx creates a guest session for you. An account is only required when you publish the event, add an organization, or upgrade. The free generators on tournamyx.com need no account at all.
What happens when a team drops out mid-event?
Tournamyx lets you drag a team out of a running tournament and drop a replacement in. The bracket, the standings, and the public link everyone is checking all update together, so there is no rebuild, no group-chat announcement, and nothing redrawn by hand.
Can more than one person enter scores at the same time?
Yes. Tournamyx supports owner, admin, and member roles plus per-tournament scoring permissions, so you can invite co-scorekeepers and have several people scoring at the same time from different courts. Every score lands in the same standings.
Can Tournamyx run several sports or categories at one event?
Yes. Each category runs as its own tournament with its own format and schedule, and all of them publish under one event with a single public link. Tournamyx ran the IIUM Robotic Competition this way in July 2025: 3 categories, 406 teams and 755 matches across 8 fields. Schedules are generated per tournament, so Tournamyx does not detect a competitor entered in two categories at once.
Can a tournament run across more than one day?
Yes. Tournamyx generates the schedule a round at a time across the courts or fields you enter, and those rounds can be spread over as many days as the event needs. Scores stay live between days and the public link never changes, so teams check the same address on day two that they used on day one.
Can I print the schedule and scoresheets?
Yes. Tournamyx exports the full match schedule and blank scoresheets for every field as print-ready PDFs, for referees, judges, and the registration desk. On the Pro plan those PDFs carry your organization logo.
Can I put sponsors on the public results page?
Yes, on Pro. Tournamyx shows unlimited sponsors on the public event page and reports click-throughs and audience analytics afterwards, so you have something concrete to send a sponsor after the final.
