All four sizes are powers of two, which is the only shape a knockout bracket resolves into cleanly. Four teams is three matches over two rounds, eight is seven over three, sixteen is fifteen over four, and thirty-two is thirty-one over five. Every round halves the field exactly and every finalist has played the same number of matches.

If your entry count is not one of those, print the next size up and pencil in the byes on the top seeds — that is exactly what the bracket does internally anyway. Twelve teams print on a sixteen-slot sheet with four byes; twenty print on a thirty-two-slot sheet with twelve. The blank version leaves a rule to write on for every slot after round one, which is the format you want for the wall: names go in as they qualify, and everyone walking past can see the state of the event without asking anybody.

There is no download button here on purpose. Your browser already makes better PDFs than a generated file would — press the print button above, then choose “Save as PDF” as the destination in the dialog that opens. That gives you a vector file that stays sharp at any size, rather than a fixed-resolution image someone has to zoom into on a phone.

Two settings matter. Use landscape for the sixteen and thirty-two slot brackets, because a five-round draw is much wider than it is tall. And leave background graphics off — the page prints as black on white regardless, but the setting saves toner on some browsers.

If you want a scoresheet rather than a bracket, that is a different sheet: blank score forms per court, with the fixture already filled in. Tournamyx Scores exports those as print-ready PDFs alongside the match schedule, which is the thing referees and the registration desk actually work from.

It stops being true at the first result. That is not a criticism of paper — it is the defining property of it. From that moment the printed bracket on the wall, the one in your bag and the photo of it in the group chat are three different documents, and the one people trust is whichever they saw most recently.

The failure is not the wrong bracket, it is the questions. Every team that cannot see a current draw asks one person, repeatedly, all day. At sixteen teams that is a steady interruption; at thirty-two it is your entire afternoon. Print the bracket for the wall by all means — but the version people check should be one that updates itself.
