Field guide
How long a kabaddi round robin takes
The clock is set by the match. In kabaddi, a standard senior match is two 20-minute halves with a five-minute break, and the changeover brings it to about 50 minutes, so this page uses 50-minute slots. Rounds are played one after another and a round cannot overlap itself, because a team would be in two matches at once. That means the run time is the sum of the slots each round needs, not the number of matches divided by the courts.
On 3 courts that gives the figures below. The largest field that fits in a four-hour block is 4 teams, and the largest field that fits in an eight-hour day is 7 teams.
Kabaddi round robin on 3 courts, 50-minute slots
| Field | Matches | Rounds | Slots | Run time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 teams | 6 | 3 | 3 | 2.5 h |
| 6 teams | 15 | 5 | 5 | 4.2 h |
| 8 teams | 28 | 7 | 14 | 11.7 h |
| 10 teams | 45 | 9 | 18 | 15 h |
How many courts a kabaddi round robin needs
A round of 10 teams is 5 matches wide, so a court past number 5 is never used. The table shows 10 teams on every court count that makes sense. Some steps save nothing, because a round of 5 matches needs the same number of slots on two different court counts.
10 teams, 50-minute slots, by number of courts
| Courts | Slots | Run time |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 45 | 37.5 h |
| 2 | 27 | 22.5 h |
| 3 | 18 | 15 h |
| 4 | 18 | 15 h |
| 5 | 9 | 7.5 h |
Running a kabaddi round robin in Tournamyx
The generator on this page is free and keeps nothing. Tournamyx Scores runs the same event live: scores come in from any phone, the table updates for everyone on one public link, and the schedule is laid across the courts you enter a round at a time. Agree how ties in the table are broken before the first match, because a three-way tie at the top is the argument nobody wants on the day. See tournament software for the full picture, or the tournament match calculator to try other slot lengths.

How many matches are in a kabaddi round robin of 8 teams?
28 matches over 7 rounds, because each of the 8 teams plays the other 7 once. On 3 courts at 50 minutes a slot that is 14 slots, about 11.7 hours.
How many teams fit a kabaddi round robin in one day?
On 3 courts at 50-minute slots, the largest field that fits in eight hours is 7 teams, and the largest field that fits in four hours is 4 teams. A bigger field needs more courts, a shorter match, or groups feeding a knockout.
Can I run a kabaddi round robin live with scores?
Yes. Tournamyx Scores runs a round robin live with a public link for players and spectators. The free plan covers 8 participants, so a larger field needs Plus (64 participants) or a one-off event unlock.
