What Tournamyx does

The formats, and what each one costs you in matches

Tournamyx runs single elimination, round robin, Swiss, and group stages that feed a knockout, plus attempt-based scoring for events that are not head-to-head at all. The reason to care about format range is arithmetic: the same twelve teams are 11 matches as a knockout, 19 as four groups of three into quarter-finals, 25 as three groups of four, and 66 as a full round robin. That is the difference between a two-hour afternoon and three separate weekends.

You can work that out for your own team list before creating anything, on the free generators — the bracket generator, the round robin generator, and the group stage + knockout generator. They run entirely in the browser, save nothing, and require no account.

If you already know your field size, the fixed-roster pages go straight to the numbers: 8 teams, 12 teams, 16 teams and 24 teams each open with that many teams loaded and the byes placed.

What "one public link" actually removes

Every Tournamyx event publishes a single URL that needs no login and no install. It carries the schedule, the live bracket or table, and every result as it lands. Captains check their next match and court on it. Spectators follow the bracket on it. Nobody messages you to ask.

The scale of that saving is not obvious until you have run an event without it. At twenty-four teams, five rounds and a draw that changes on every result, the same question arrives from a different person every few minutes for the whole day — and answering it means re-reading a spreadsheet on your phone while holding a whistle.

This is also what makes the event recoverable if you are not there. A public link that is correct without your involvement means a co-organizer can cover an hour without a handover briefing.
