Field guide
How many fixtures does a league have?
In a single round robin every team plays every other team once, so the number of fixtures is n × (n − 1) ÷ 2. Matchdays follow from the field size: an even number of teams needs n − 1 matchdays, and an odd number needs n, because one team has no game on each matchday.
The table below is computed from the same arithmetic the generator uses, so it matches what you will see when you paste your own teams.

Matchdays, byes and what to do about odd numbers
A matchday is one set of games in which every team plays at most once. The generator builds them with the circle method: one team stays fixed, the others rotate one place per matchday, and every pairing comes up exactly once.
With an odd number of teams one team has no game on each matchday. That is a bye, and it rotates, so nobody sits out twice before everyone has sat out once. Standings count only games actually played, which is why a team can lead the table with a game in hand.
Fixtures for home and away
A home-and-away league plays each pairing twice, which doubles the fixture count to n × (n − 1). This generator produces a single leg. To plan a second leg, run the same list again in the same order and swap the venues by hand.

When a full fixture list is too long
The fixture count grows with the square of the field. Twelve teams is 66 fixtures, twenty is 190. If the season is short, split the field into groups and send the top teams into a knockout with the group stage and knockout generator, or rank everyone in fewer rounds with the Swiss generator.

How do you make a fixture list for a league?
List the teams, then pair them so that every team meets every other team once and nobody plays twice in the same matchday. The circle method does this: fix one team, rotate the rest one place per matchday. The generator above applies it to any field from 3 to 24 teams.
How many fixtures are there for 10 teams?
45 fixtures over 9 matchdays, with 5 games on each matchday. The formula is 10 × 9 ÷ 2 = 45. Every team plays 9 games.
Can the fixture generator do home and away?
Not directly. It produces one leg, each pairing once. For home and away, play the same list twice and swap venues for the second leg.
What happens with an odd number of teams?
One team has no game on each matchday, and that bye rotates through the field. A league of 7 teams runs 7 matchdays of 3 games rather than 6.
Does the fixture generator assign dates and venues?
No. It lists the games in each matchday. Assigning those games to courts and times is a feature of Tournamyx Scores, a round at a time across your courts.
